Not just productivity. Progress.
We're building a deeply capable agentic AI platform for individuals and organizations, structured as a Public Benefit Corporation with legally binding obligations to address what AI is doing to the workforce and the planet.
A name with intent.
/kɔː·miː·tɑːs/ KOH-mih-tass The Roman civic virtue of grace and goodwill — the quality that kept powerful entities approachable and answerable, and that made frank discussion possible between parties of unequal standing.
— Cicero, De Officiis
The powerful entity this name is about isn't AI, and it isn't us. It's the AI industry as it currently operates: minting billionaires without paying its way environmentally or socially. We chose this name because serious AI capability changes the equation, and power without comitas, without grace toward those affected, is just displacement with better branding. We're choosing to be the active, positive alternative instead.
What the name commits us to
Answerable to users, not stock markets
We are structured as a PBC so our legal obligations include public benefit — not as a nice-to-have, but as a founding constraint on every business decision.
Grace in how AI power is distributed
The platform serves individuals and organizations — with a deliberate emphasis on making those capabilities accessible to those who've historically had the least leverage.
Frank about what AI does to work
We don't pretend the disruption isn't real. We build tools to address it, help users become re-employed or self-employed faster, and publish the data on what actually works.
The hard conversation most AI companies are skipping.
~45%
of new businesses don't survive their first five years
BLS Business Employment Dynamics →Counts employer firms only. Sole proprietors and gig workers are excluded — the real rate is substantially higher.
Our goal is to put serious AI capability within reach of everyone. Agentic AI shouldn't be reserved for enterprises large enough to build or buy it — it should be available to everyone. That's not just a product decision. It's why we built the company the way we did.
Three harms. Three commitments.
The environmental costs of AI sit in a big, scary, amorphous cloud of "AI is bad for the environment." Few have prioritized talking about those impacts while also educating people on how approachable the solutions are. The data is available. When you measure it and build offsets into your pricing, customers become part of the solution without sticker shock. Workforce displacement is the genuinely hard problem. That's where we focus most.
Legally binding. Not a pledge.
A Delaware Public Benefit Corporation is required by law to consider the interests of those materially affected by its conduct — not just shareholders. Directors have a fiduciary duty to the stated public benefit.
Our stated public benefit: improving economic outcomes for people navigating AI-driven workforce disruption, and turning every customer into part of the solution for AI's environmental impact through our 105% climate pledge.
We are deliberately not venture-backed. VC dilution compresses what a company can allocate to non-profit obligations over time. We keep that room open on purpose.
Our public benefit commitments
Profit legally obligated to public benefit — not a pledge
Directors have a fiduciary duty to the stated public benefit: research, tooling, structural interventions, and direct support for causes like homelessness. The platform fee itself is tuned over time so more value flows to sustainable growth and public benefit as we get more efficient, not to what accumulates as profit.
Outcomes published publicly
Employment recovery rates, businesses launched, income recovery — reported as aggregate PBC impact data, not kept internal.
Self-employment success research
We fund and publish data-driven research on what actually improves the odds for independent workers — shared as a public good.
